Death by PowerPoint is written and directed by Andrew Broadhurst and stars Dallas White, Julia Langholt, Monica Haynes, with Jeremy Blackwell. The film is executive produced by Andrew Broadhurst, Dallas White, Owen Palmiotti, Brendan & Amanda Powers, Jeremy Blackwell, and Michael Watts. Associate producers include Rick Kelvin Branch, Marissa Palmiotti, Richie Frieman, and Marqeis LaShawn Sparks.
Following White winning Best Actor for his performance in Andrew Broadhurst’s The Hope Dealer at the New Jersey Recovery Film Festival, Broadhurst pitched a new project and role during their travels back to Maryland. This time, a comedy, a genre White is trying to merge into to diversify his acting career. "We laughed about PowerPoint sins, micro-managers, and the crazy requests graphic designers have to deal with. I knew from the laughs that it was probably a project worth doing," Broadhurst says. White also saw an opportunity to have Death by PowerPoint be the launch project of his production company, Dallas White Films.
The story focuses on a graphic designer who is micromanaged to the point of killing her overbearing manager. “The hilarity of it all is within the context and how insane these characters are intended to be. Death by PowerPoint is a fast-paced comedy with a unique punchline and I think people will enjoy it,” White describes.
"Bringing a production team together from Ohio, Maryland, and West Virginia for a weekend shoot is not an easy task," Broadhurst explains. "The most encouraging comment I heard over the weekend shoot was 'this is one of the most organized shoots I've been on.'
A trailer for the film is expected to release by the new year with a film festival run starting late Spring 2020.
